The South African National Taxi Council’s (SANTACO) goal of raising a low-cost airline in South Africa is falling short as they have realized that, after spending large sums of money to get the project underway, it can take years to obtain a licence to fly.
Santaco has now decided to go the route of taking over control of an existing airline such as an SA aircraft operator. They are also said to be in negotiations with Star Air Cargo.
