The South African Naval Museum houses a submarine diorama and is the custodian of the Martello Tower, which is one of the oldest surviving Corsican-pattern towers in the world. It is also home of the False Bay Yacht Club, which has keel boat regattas most Wednesday evenings and weekends.

Nowadays, Simon's Town is in effect a suburb of greater Cape Town. Sun Valley, together with other neighborhoods like Sunnydale, Faerie Knowe and Silverglade form part of this suburb. This suburb still holds a lot of retail property potential.
